We absolutely are insured! Our general liability policy has us covered for both residential as well as commercial properties.
The main difference between the two is "power washing" is using a hot water pressure washer which helps break down greasy and oil covered surfaces. Pressure washing is cold water washing.
For an average sized home a typical house wash for us start to finish will be around 2 hours. The amount of property protection needed could add extra time as well as very large multiple story homes.
Our property protection process typically includes covering/taping outlets, pre-wetting/covering sensitive plants, completing a small spot test (to ensure the cleaning agents do not affect the coloring of the surface), sometimes covering door knobs or taping the key holes.
We expect payment at the time of the job completion. Types of payments we currently accept are cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, online debit/credit cards.
Many factors apply to how often your home needs cleaning but it really comes down to your personal preference! I always recommend having your home washed at least once per year. Some homes near lakes or heavily shaded areas may need cleaning more often. Having your home cleaned regularly helps prevent algae from returning as quickly and also visible oxidation. In the long run keeping your siding clean will increase the longevity of your homes exterior.
Over time you may notice a white chalky substance on the surface of your vinyl siding and trim. What you're seeing is fading or oxidation. It's a natural process that happens when the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material is exposed to oxygen and other natural elements as well as dirt and grime build-up. Typically the more exposed to the sun, the worse the oxidation is.
A good way to check your siding for oxidation is to rub your fingers across an area that gets heavy sunlight. If there is a chalky residue on your fingers then your siding is oxidized. Oxidation cannot be completely reversed but there are options to restore your siding without having to replace it.
No, you do not need to be present at the time of the job as long as the payment options have been discussed prior to the appointment. Our rule of thumb is if you are comfortable with not being present, then so are we.
We understand how busy life and all of our schedules can be. Many of our jobs are done while home/property owners are working or out of town. As long as there is good communication before hand between both parties, this is a great option.
We try to keep our scheduled appointments no matter what. Re-scheduling can be a burden on everyone so we do our best to keep things on track, however occasionally mother nature does shut us down. We will still wash/clean on rainy days as well as cold days.
A few situations that may shut us down is: below freezing temps, extreme wind, very heavy rain, thunderstorms or storm warnings.
Yes! This is a very frequently asked question and the answer is ALWAYS yes unless there is absolutely no water available.
Bringing our own water is much harder on our trucks/equipment as well as very costly to both us and you! We charge extra for supplying water for a job.
The main chemical used for exterior cleaning is SH (sodium hypochlorite). In high percentages this can and will kill plants, grass, and flowers. Once SH is diluted enough it is harmless. We recommend keeping pets away during the process of washing but should be fine afterwards.
Because SH can be damaging to organic growth, one of our property protection procedures is to always pre-soak surrounding grass, plants, and flowers. We will also follow up with a soaking of those said grass. plants, flowers once the washing is complete.
In some cases we may also cover plants/flowers with plastic if we feel it is needed.
